Feed monitoring
In the QS system, all mixed animal feed manufacturers are obliged to implement and ensure the QS criteria. These also include comprehensive investigations of the raw materials or end products within the framework of QS animal feed monitoring.
The aim of the animal feed monitoring processes is to ensure constant assessment of mixed animal feeds in the QS system and the maintenance of threshold and guidelines values for mycotoxins, environmental toxins, pesticides, micro organisms or heavy metals.
In order to secure the maintenance of the specifications and to ensure that the comparability of analysis results between laboratories is at a uniform level, only QS recognised laboratories are permitted to carry out animal feed monitoring.
The investigations that must be carried out by QS animal feed companies are summarised in the Animal feed monitoring guideline.
"Animal feed monitoring" database module
Since the start of the Animal feed monitoring database module in April 2008, all analysis results must be recorded and saved in the QS software platform. The set data gives an overview of the nature of animal feeds. Since April 2008, both the entry of analysis results in the database module as well as the use of QS recognised laboratories is monitored within the framework of neutral monitoring.
Data entry
For entries into the database module, samples that are taken at the company and which should be taken into account for the QS monitoring plan are fundamentally relevant: The system partner records the sample related data and approves the commissioned laboratory. They then enter the results of the analysis into the database. The laboratory is only able to view the samples for which they have received an examination order. In the same way, all of the system partners are only able to view the sample related data and results relating to their company.
An overview of the various functionalities of the QS animal feed monitoring database module can be found in the associated user manual. This is available for download under www.qs-platform.info/QSSoftware/Hilfe.
