Requirements for mobile feed milling and mixing plants
Like the tried and tested procedure of QS inspections for small manufacturers of individual animal feeds, the QS system has also offered the QS inspection for mobile milling and mixing equipment since 1st January 2007. Operators of mobile milling and mixed equipment who wish to manufacturer animal feed mixes for QS system partners must have their systems tested within the framework of a QS inspection. A monitorable, company-specific HACCP concept for the animal feed manufacturing sector is required. In addition, operators must ensure that the legal specifications and the QS criteria are adhered to.
The "QS inspection for mobile milling and mixing equipment" guideline provides a compact summary of the relevant criteria of quality assurance that must be proved within the framework of the QS inspection. It offers assistance when it comes to fulfilling the requirements, for example, those within the animal feed hygiene legislation (Directive (EU) number 183/2005).
Important in this context: As of 1st July 2007, agricultural QS businesses may only make feed mixes with mobile milling and mixing equipment authorised by QS.
