The food retail industry is the interface to the consumer and has made a significant contribution to the expansion and the success of the QS system. The QS mark for foodstuffs has, for the consumer, become the synonym for process and origin safety, in particular, as a result of the support it has from the food retail industry. And for this reason, in excess of 22,000 outlets in the food retail industry have decided in favour of QS for meat and meat products since the foundation of the QS system in 2001. These include, Aldi, Coop, Edeka, Kaiser's Tengelmann, Kaufland, Marktkauf, Metro and Rewe.
