Producers of fruit, vegetables and potatoes can become scheme participants in a number of ways: In every instance, they participate via a QS authorized coordinator who acts as their QS contractual partner and organizes the independent inspection (audit) for them. To do this, a company can either be certified directly via a QS audit. The mutual recognition with other quality standards enables scheme participation via a QS-GAP, GlobalG.A.P. or IKKB audit. This avoids double auditing, minimizes the work to be carried out by producers and thus enables the cross-border flow of goods without barriers. Independent of the audit, producers of fruit, vegetables and potatoes are obliged to take part in QS residue monitoring, the organization of which is also carried out via the coordinator.
