Storage of meat and meat products
A reliable quality assurance of meat and meat products is not only relevant in the value chain but also for storage. Therefore, the implementation of companies that storage meat and meat products in the QS scheme contributes to the value chain as well as to assuring safe food across all stages.
By participating in the QS scheme, companies commissioned with the storage of meat and meat products commit themselves to comply with high temperature requirements. The strict compliance with hygiene requirements, the traceability of goods as well as the complete documentation guarantee the safety of meat and meat products.
The compliance and realisation of these requirements is checked in audits by qualified auditors. By that the companies signalise to their customers, that all processes are also checked by an independent organisations.

Participate in the QS scheme
If your company that storages QS goods on behalf of a scheme participant wants to participate in the QS scheme, you can register via the QS database. To this you choose an approved certification body that should organise your participation in the QS scheme and the initial audit. For participating please send a declaration of participation for the storage of meat and meat products in the QS scheme to your certification body.
If companies that already have an IFS logistic certificate would like to participate in the QS scheme, their certificate can be recognised by QS. This also requires a registration in the QS database. To this the certification body which is responsible for the IFS certification must be chosen. The certification body enters the term of the IFS logistic certificate into the QS database and by that allows the company’s approval in the QS scheme. For this purpose it is mandatory that the respective certification body gets registered in the QS scheme by QS – unless it already has an own QS approval - and the company sends a signed declaration of participation for the storage of meat and meat products to the certification body.
