Businesses which shred, peel, grate, slice, puree, freeze or heat fruit, vegetables or potatoes can get certified according to the guideline preparation/processing. This guideline also covers, for example, Fresh Cut and canned food production and the treatment of sprouts. Producers may let check the requirements related to the preparation and processing in the QS-/QS-GAP audit for the stage production.

The guideline contains practice-oriented requirements for the production processes that take account of the increased risk potential. These requirements include requirements for process, plant and staff hygiene as well as for temperature management. In order to ensure the microbiological safety of products, the businesses must implement a microbiological monitoring based on QS specifications.

If you are a preparation and/or processing company or a trading company with preparation/processing and would like to participate in the QS scheme, you can register in the QS database. After a successful audit and the signing of the scheme agreement you are permitted to market your products into the QS scheme.

If you are a grower and would like to get certified for preparation/processing, you have to contact your coordinator. The coordinator advises you on all questions relating to the QS scheme und assists you with the registration.
