EHEC analyses: no contamination found
QS has collected round 3350 results from its scheme participants concerning the analysis of enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC) contamination. All results are negative, no contamination was found.
Since May the QS head office has collected data from the EHEC-self assessment of the QS scheme participants. In addition to that QS assigns further analyses. Most of the data collected so far (June 21st, 2011) comes from Germany (1515).
From Spain QS got 437 analytical results, from the Netherlands 1044, from Belgium 315 and from other countries 35 in total. Mainly salad (455), cucumbers (480) and tomatoes were analysed. Further samples were taken from pepper, melons, asparagus, fresh cut mix, fresh herbs and sprouts. Besides, samples were taken from irrigation water. Adhesive film tests and soil samples were analysed, too.
