Correct Sampling - First Training in Belgium
On 9 March a training for Belgian coordinators and wholesalers took place in Sint-Katelijne-Waver. The event, organised by QS in cooperation with the VBT (Verbond van Belgische Tuinbouwcoöperaties), dealt with the correct sampling for the residue monitoring of fruits, vegetables and potatoes. To secure representative sampling, the participants got precise guidelines for the technical implementation. Moreover, typical sources of mistakes and contamination were identified.
Initially, Carina Gotto informed the audience about current developments within the QS residue monitoring and explained how the scheme participants were able to evaluate their own analysis results in the QS database by using different specifications. Further, Brigitta Wolf (Vegaplan), Ann de Craene (VBT) and Hans Braeckman (Primoris) lead through the theoretical part. In the practical part of the workshop the participants received helpful tips for sampling by Tom Bolsens (CKCert).
