IFS Food certification of companies for the storage of meat and meat products recognized
Next to IFS Logistics, from now on IFS Food will also be recognized as an equivalent standard to the guideline Storage of Meat and Meat Products within the QS scheme. Double certification is being avoided due to this recognition and a high level of practicability for the storage companies will be ensured.
Companies, that store QS meat and meat products on behalf of other companies and have a valid IFS Food certification, can use this certification in order to obtain approval in the QS scheme for the production scope
87 Storage of Meat and Meat Products as of now. The approval for the QS scheme is – analogous to IFS Logistics – carried out by the certification bodies registered in the QS scheme with which the companies conclude a declaration of participation for storage of meat and meat products.
Since 1st of January 2017 companies, that store QS meat and meat products on behalf of QS scheme participants, can be certified to the new guideline Storage of Meat and Meat Products. After a two-year transition period, the certification according to QS or a recognized standard will be obligatory for all storage companies commissioned by QS scheme participants from 1st of January 2019 onwards.
