Keeping an eye on audit quality
In their joint meeting, the advisory boards for beef veal and pork and for poultry decided to intensify the monitoring of audit quality by QS. For this purpose, specially trained auditors will carry out timely staggered audits (parallel audits). The aim is to verify the result of a previous regular audit through QS and thus critically assess the work of certification bodies and auditors. These parallel audits can be performed within up to four weeks after the corresponding regular audit. They are assigned and paid by QS. An announcement to the scheme participant is made in advance. During these audits, an shorter checklist is used which mainly targets on the inspection of particularly critical criteria.
The Guideline Certification will be supplemented under point 5.2 with effect from 1 July 2011.
