Meat and Meat Products: Number of scheme participants still at a high level
The number of scheme participants meat and meat products remained to be at a high level. This shows the current evaluation of the QS Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH.
Currently 108,785 scheme participants in the supply chain meat and meat products take part at the QS scheme (as of 1 January 2016). Compared to the year before, especially at the stage of meat processing a significant increase can be recognized. While in January 2015 346 meat processing companies were integrated into the QS scheme, currently 439 companies are registered. This represents an increase of almost 27 percent. At poultry farms the positive trend of the recent years has continued too (+10 percent). Currently 5,019 poultry farms are eligible to deliver goods into the QS scheme, 430 farms more than 2015.
A similar picture emerges with livestock transports. Here, the number of scheme participants increased by around 3 percent in the last year so that now a total of 1,945 companies participate in the QS scheme. Compared to 1 January 2015, 897 additional feed companies from Germany and from abroad are eligible to deliver into the QS scheme (9,015 in total).
