The QS Advisory Board on Cattle and Pigs‘ last meeting decided to revise the Feed Monitoring Guideline and Annex 8.2 Table of Limit- and QS Guideline Values on 1 July 2019.
The revision includes the inclusion of the parameters aflatoxin B1, deoxynivalenol (DON) and zearalenone (ZEA) for sugar beet pulp in the control plans for feed producers and traders, as well as the definition of QS guideline values for the parameters DON and ZEA in sugar beet pulp in the guideline for feed monitoring.
The legislator has not specified any guideline or limit values for DON and ZEA in sugar beet pulp. For aflatoxin, on the other hand, there is a legal limit. As a result, monitoring for the above mycotoxins should be carried out as harvest screening at the beginning of the sugar beet campaign.
