Diagnostic Data

Accessing the salmonella and diagnostic database is possible only via the QS database using the following link www.q-s.de/softwareplattform/en. Once you logged in using your access data, you can enter the salmonella and diagnostic database via the menu item Salmonella monitoring and Diagnostic data. There you do not need to enter your access data again. If your access data is requested nevertheless, the cookie settings of the utilised browser (such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome etc.) might be the cause. Likewise, clearing your temporary internet files (browser cache) in your browser might be helpful.

For pigs:

The diagnostic data must be reported for all fattening pigs delivered by QS-certified farmers.

Outside Germany, the recording and reporting of the results to the farmer must be carried out in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 2019/627. The data must be sent to the farmer and each quarter (aggregated) to QS. For this purpose the companies have received a template for the transmission to QS. Irrespective of this, all diagnostic data must be entered into the slaughterhouse's EDP system. For the farmer, it must be possible to make a comparison with all farmers who have supplied the slaughterhouse.

For poultry:

Slaughterhouses must enter the following data in the diagnostic data database for each batch of QS animals delivered.

• Type of destocking (main destocking/pre-destocking)
• The number of the slaughter batch
• Date of slaughter
• Date of stabling for fattening
• Number of animals delivered for slaughter
• Location number of the farmer
• Animal species/animal group (turkeys, broilers)
• Gender (optional, only for turkeys)
• Mortality during fattening (in percent)
• Animals that died during transport (in percent)
• Foot pad changes (score)
• Exceedings of 2b >20% for chickens or C >25% for turkeys
• Number of animals rejected (differentiated by reason)
• Breast skin lesions for male turkey (percentage of ratings A, B, and C)
• Recording system, camera-based

If the displayed AHI values seem unrealistic or incomprehensible, we recommend checking the diagnoses on an individual animal basis (see: Where can I find the AHI?). In addition, we recommend comparing the diagnoses with those from the abattoir’s accounting or the weighing protocol in such a case.

Please inform us if any obvious errors or severe discrepancies persist after this proceeding. We will forward your information to the abattoirs and veterinarians and request verification of the data. In this way, we aim to obtain reliable and correct diagnostic data and to improve the information content of the AHI continuously.

All slaughterhouses in the QS system are obliged to report the defined indicators to the diagnostic data database.

Refer to the Guideline Diagnostic Data in Poultry Slaughtering. Camera systems for recording foot pad changes must be used if the maximum slaughter capacity exceeds the following values:

• 4000 chickens per hour
• 500 turkeys per hour

In companies with lower slaughtering capacities, the detection can be done manually: then 50 pairs of feet at the beginning and 50 pairs of feet at the end of slaughter batch must be evaluated by qualified persons.

Since August 2018, you as livestock owner are informed quarterly about the accomplished AHI values by an information letter from your coordinator. In addition, you can access your information letter in the QS diagnostic database at any time. It contains your company´s AHI values for every abattoir, to which at least 50 animals were delivered within the last two quarters. The QS diagnostic database also provides detailed information on your diagnostic data. You can access and download detailed diagnostic data for individual animals, a certain batch or a selected time period.
